State Farm/Custom Promotion

 

Situation

For over 10 years, State Farm has been a proud sponsor of NCAA Basketball – both Men’s and Women’s. Every weekend, they sponsor NCAA Basketball College Game Day and are the feature sponsor for the entire March Madness Event.

State Farm wanted to find a promotional item for the March Madness tournaments that would both fit their budget and make a lasting impression. They asked CMG to come up with an idea that would provide a collectible giveaway to everyone who attended the final event.

 

Solution

We teamed up with our State Farm partners and created several product options for them to choose. After several months of sampling and working together, we decided to utilize a two-sided foam NCAA March Madness stadium cushion. This product fit State Farm’s price point and delivered on their corporate goal of providing a collectable item that left a lasting impression.

The cushions were placed on every seat in the stadium; as fans entered the stadium, they were surrounded by a sea of red and white cushions bearing the State Farm logo.

Even better, each and every ticket holder could take home their reusable stadium cushions – each one a virtual 12 x 12 walking billboard bearing the NCAA Final Four logo on the front and the State Farm logo on the back.

State Farm has continued to support this promotional campaign for several years now with similar products for each of the Men’s and Women’s Final Four events. The cushions have received national attention and have become collector’s items on eBay, with previous year’s cushions selling in excess of $25.00 per piece.

We were pleased to develop a great promotional item, within our client’s budget, that can be used over and over.
